Dawnsearlylite Book

Book Reviews

Kumar is a fine writer. The romantic novel takes the reader to Montréal, Canada, where a beautiful French-Canadian girl named Gabrielle Dawn L'Andry lives and works as a school teacher. But Gabrielle has a dark and ambitious side -- Dawn. The book will flash back and reveal her life as she leads a dual life. Gabrielle's aka Dawn's pressing need for love and money sends her carefully planned life plummeting into a chaos.

Dawnsearlylite is a book for any romantic, it has love, power, money, sex and highly charged emotions. Arvind writes with a true flair for imagination. His descriptions are vivid; his words paint a picture on the tapestry of the parchment. I highly recommend "Dawnsearlylite" to everyone and give it my highest A+ rating.

I read the whole novel over the weekend...provocative, bewildering. Very few works of fiction compel me to read right through, by the way.

Dawn is a complicated character - she has a deep spiritual connection.

Dawn's descent into a life of prostitution and her leading a double life as a schoolteacher pushes the envelope of shocking. Everything about her is intriguing and dramatic. You're shocked at her behavior, yet you embrace her as a character because she has human weaknesses. And her exposure is also shocking and evokes sympathy as well. It is a wonderful story. The characters are deep, unusual and relatable, the background is colorful. When you read the story, the images of story and settings pop into your head - very cinematic.

Everything that Dawn and Sanjay touch has an erotic feel to it. Kumar has a fresh voice, writes with a sensual flair, avoiding crudeness. The characters are well-developed and carry a great deal of complexity in their personalities. Kumar sums up the story well with a thought from Sanjay, "The saddest moment in life is not when someone dies. It is when hearts are broken."

I highly recommend this novel to both male and female readers that enjoy sensual stories that also contain well-developed characters and a plot with depth.

'A fresh original voice.'

'The concept of a sexy, romantic relationship between two people who are alike in their intelligence, drive, and sexual appetites but also different in terms of respectability, marital status, goals, social standing, and race is intriguing.

'The two main characters, Dawn and Sanjay, are well developed and believable.' Among the strengths of this novel, I note the following:

  • Compelling overall concept (the thinking person’s Pretty Woman)
  • Creative use of intertextuality
  • Strong development of main characters
